Training
Training is a vital part of implementing enterprise systems. In order for everyone to do their part correctly, they must understand how their actions impact others. They must understand the goals and desired output. Lack of training is the primary cause of garbage in, garbage out, at computer speed or GIGOACS.
The enterprise software packages that we support are feature rich, with new features included in their frequent software updates. With each new level of complication, the need for training becomes more critical. Even if you are gifted, you may need help to know when to push and when to pull, to know where the handle is located and precisely what to do when you are using a complicated software package. The value of the software is directly related to your ability to use it.
To be a good trainer, one must understand the software and the goals of the trainee. It is almost as important to know which parts to skip on training as it is which parts to include. As an experienced degreed accountant, having assisted dozens of companies implement software and accounting systems, I can say that training is vital for enterprise software to be used properly.
What could be better than being trained by the software developer that has complete knowledge of the software and a good understanding of your business?
